![]() ![]() The Morris County Park Commission purchased the Albano and Claremont tracts in 1991. Schooley’s Mountain County Park was dedicated and opened to the public in 1974. In October of 1969, the Morris County Park Commission acquired the land from the YMCA of Morrisown. Schooley’s Mountain County Park is named for the Schooley family, who were considerable proprietors of land in the area, circa 1700. ![]() For reservations, please call 973.326.7631, option 1. You can also reserve the athletic field to organize a softball or soccer game. If your group is larger than 25 people, take advantage of one of the reservable picnic sites, that includes shelters, tents, picnic tables, and charcoal grills. You can also reserve the natural amphitheater for your special occasion. There are picnic tables and charcoal grills. In the nearby atheltic fields, toss a Frisbee or play catch. Picnics and Athletic Field: Plan a fun picnic for family and friends. Cross the 470-foot floating bridge and delight in a picnic lunch in on the lush, grassy hill overlooking the lake. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon fishing along Lake George. On any day, you can hike, jog, or take a leisurely walk along the trails. ![]()
